Dr. Douglas Weissman is a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist as well as an advanced Endoscopist. Dr. Weissman completed his postgraduate training at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. Following that, he moved to South Florida where he started his own private practice.
He then completed a biliary endoscopic fellowship in Santiago, Chile under the auspices of Dr Jerome Waye and Dr Claudio Navarette, a well known and highly regarded biliary endoscopist and Mount Sinai Hospital.
After returning back to the United States, Dr. Weissman built up a highly successful practice in Coral Springs, Florida for which he served for greater than 20 years with distinction.
During his time in private practice, he was further able to complete an advanced endosonograhy fellowship in Montreal, Canada under the guidance of Drs. Anand Sahai and Sarto Paquin who are both world renowned endosonographers.
Following the sale of his practice, he was heavily recruited to the state of Indiana by a leading tertiary care facility trauma center and comprehensive cancer center. There Dr. Weissman was afforded the opportunity to work with exemplary gastroenterologists medical and surgical oncologists where he was introduced to the most complex cases in the state.
After leaving the state of Indiana he had decided to return to the state of Florida to be closer to his family. Over the years Dr. Weissman has learned many things but a few caveats truly stand out:
